After watching every other team, even the Nationals feast on the free agent market the Mets finally sighned Jason Bay. i like the singing they didn't over spend in my opinion but he is only one piece to the puzzle,,,,,GET IT DONE OMAR

12 million for Perez is a joke, Maine has lost his control not to mention can't seem to get past the fifth inning and Pelfrey yeah i have no clue what is wrong with him all i can say is get Pedro under contract before he signs with another team because the way things are going this years we are going to need the insurance.

Great start to the season, just like Omar thought Johan starts, Green and Putz set up the KROD. Was great to see Daniel Murphy have a great day at the plate and in the field also nice to see Ryan Church with a sliding let's see Gary Sheffield do that catch and throw to first base for the double play, great game, great start.

Good news for Mets fans bad news for Team USA Carlos Beltran went 3 for 3 hitting a toweing home run to help beat Team USA 11-1 the 10 run mercy rule was in effect and the game ended after the 7th inning.

After a little time off and missing a start for a lower leg injury Mike Pelfrey started on saturday and led the mets with four scorless innings. Fernando Taitis fresh off the world baseball classic had three hits and an RBI.

Upon returning from the World Baseball Classic and a couple of days rest it's nice to see Jose is back at the top of the Mets batting order where he belongs

I'm jumping on board with the rest of the people saying it's time to bring back Pedro, with all the questions the Met's are having with their fifth starting spot i definatly think the met's need to look outside of the guy's they have in camp. Freddy Garcia has been a huge disappointment so far his fastball topping out in the low 80's and for a power pitcher who relies on his fast ball that is horrible. Tim Redding is looking like he is going to start the season on the disabled list and John Niese dosn't look ready. I think it's time,,,,,,,Pedro time

Johan Santana was scheduled to pitch in a "B" game agasint the Italian international team and is being scratched because of elbow soreness. Johan will insead pitch a bullpen session and see how it feel's.

Starting off right

Well it's always nice to see the Mets get things going and the fact that there was a win involved makes it even better. After all the things you hear about Luis Castillo, i for one was very happy to see him have a big day. Of course i know it's only the first game of spring training so we will keep our fingers crossed but the guy is a lifetime .300 hitter who just had an injury plagued off year last year.
